Geological logs, petrography, and geochemical analysis confirmed a well-developed porphyry system, with andesite porphyry and diorite porphyry as the main rock units showing considerable alteration; ore minerals observed include pyrite, chalcopyrite, magnetite, molybdenite, and galena in decreasing order of abundance, alongside propylitic, potash, phyllic, and argillic alteration zones with assemblages of chlorite, K-feldspar, sericite, epidote, calcite, anhydrite, and quartz. Geochemical analysis of 37 randomly selected samples using standard AAS techniques showed copper ranging from 0.013 to 2.2% (with one anomalous sample at 7.98%), gold from 0.2 to 3.08 ppm, silver from 0.4 to 0.6 ppm, and molybdenum from 6.5 to 290 ppm.

This project focuses on copper and gold exploration near Mashki Chah (SML's Block-2) in the Chagai Magmatic Arc, a potential segment of the porphyry copper-gold-rich Tethyan Metallogenic Belt, as a joint venture between Saindak Metals Limited (SML) and the Geological Survey of Pakistan (GSP). Integrated geophysical surveys by GSP across 1,859.50 acres comprising two lease blocks identified huge sulfide mineralization in Block-2 near Mashki Chah in the foothills of Dam Koh Volcano, prompting the drilling of three exploratory wells. Current prospects call for extending exploratory work in adjacent areas given the positive potential for a substantive economic discovery.
